Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
Some of the same strokes are used as in classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the fascia.
Indian Head Massage
This is another highly beneficial massage therapy which is carried out on the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, scalp and face. You will be comfortably seated in an upright position on a straight backed chair. Your feet should be flat on the floor, shoes removed and tight waistbands and collars should be loosened for comfort. No oils are usually used.
Craniosacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a hands-on therapy, where the touch is gentle, non-invasive and usually subtle. It is also a powerful therapy that affects the central nervous system to assist in improving function in the whole body. The aim of CST is to assist and support the body as it heals itself and to optimise its functional level.
CLRT (Cranial Laser Reflex Technique)
Cranial Laser Reflex Technique (CLRT) is an exciting new development in natural pain relief and functional improvement. Dr Nicholas Wise, a second generation chiropractor from South Carolina, developed this method which involves a brief laser stimulation of specific cranial reflex points.
The Low Level red Laser can also be used directly on the site of injuries, bruises, sprains , tight muscles and swellings to encourage the healing process.
Therapeutic massage
has been used for many years as a way to relieve muscle tension and to relax the body and mind. Therapeutic massage uses a variety of stroking, kneading, pressure and flowing movements over the body to treat and prevent a huge variety of complaints, or can simply be used for deep relaxation
Holistic Massage
The term 'holistic' comes from the Greek word 'holos' meaning whole. The holistic approach aims to restore balance within the body, taking into account the person's whole being not just their physical symptoms or ailments.
Holistic massage is an individual treatment that is specifically tailored to each client. A holistic practitioner treats the client as a whole, taking into account their emotional and spiritual wellbeing, as well as their physical body.
The massage techniques can range from subtle energy work to deep tissue methods; from dynamic mobilizations to gentle holds. Flexibility in applying this knowledge is paramount since their appropriateness must be determined by the client's particular needs. Every treatment is unique.

Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy massage shares many of the goals of regular massage – to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation and mobility, and just make you feel good. But it's also tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies, and therapists who are trained in pregnancy massage adjust their techniques accordingly.
Hydrotherm Massage
Hydrotherm is a very beneficial relaxing form of massage that differs from other types of massage in that it is carried out with the client lying face up on two cushions that are filled with warm water, heated to between 35-40 degrees. The cushions are placed onto a conventional massage couch.
The therapist uses oil and slides their hands between the client’s body and the cushions. This means the therapist’s pressure is upwards rather than downwards and so works against the clients’ body weight. The water supports the body and the heat from the water enables tight muscles to begin to relax before the massage even starts.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is an advanced therapy in which the practitioner uses a range of specialised and gentle rhythmic pumping techniques to move the skin in the direction of the lymph flow.
This stimulates the lymphatic vessels which carry substances vital to the defence of the body and removes waste products. Each session will last approximately one hour. Where appropriate the therapist will work in conjunction with your medical practitioner.
What are the benefits?
MLD is both preventative and remedial and can enhance your well being. Furthermore, MLD:
•Is deeply relaxing
•Promotes the healing of fractures, torn
ligaments, sprains and lessens pain.
•Can improve many chronic conditions such as
sinusitis & rheumatoid arthritis.
•May strengthen the immune system.
•Relieves fluid congestion: swollen ankles,
tired puffy eyes .
•Is an effective component of the treatment
and control of lymphoedema (which may occur
after cancer treatment) and assists in
conditions arising from venous insufficiency.
•Promotes healing of wounds and burns.
